Alumni Accounts

Beginning for student accounts active on 7/6/2020 and later, Indiana Tech is pleased to provide e-mail services for alumni who maintain active use of their Indiana Tech email account. These accounts are transitioned, disabled, and deleted based on the status of a student within the university’s system of record.

Alumni Account Life Cycle

  • Transitioned
    • Student accounts are transitioned to alumni licensing 150 days after completing a student’s last class and if there are no future enrollments. The alumni license will remain active as long as the email account is accessed at least once a year.
  • Disabled
    • If an alumni email account is not accessed for more than a year, the account will be disabled.
  • Deleted
    • Alumni accounts are deleted two years after the account is disabled.

Impact of Student-to-Alumni Account Transition

  • Logging into your Indiana Tech email address at least once a year will indefinitely maintain access to the following services.
    • Email
    • my.IndianaTech
  • You will lose access to the following
    • Microsoft Office Applications and OneDrive files
      • Microsoft’s agreement requires that licenses for Microsoft 365 (Desktop and Web apps) are removed.  Unlicensed notifications and reduced functionality will be seen in installed office applications.
      • If you would like to retain the files on your Indiana Tech OneDrive, please download them and move them to a location of your choosing. To create a free Microsoft account with basic OneDrive storage, please visit https://account.microsoft.com/account.
