Blackboard Course Export and Import

Exporting a course creates a ZIP file of the course content called a course package. You can import course packages back into Blackboard to create another course with the same content. Exporting a course includes only the course content. The export does not include any user interactions such as blog posts or grades.

Export an Existing Course

  1. Go to the course from which content should be exported.
  2. On the Control Panel, expand the Packages and Utilities section and click Export/Archive Course.
  3. On the Export/Archive Course page, click Export Package on the Action Bar.
  4. Select the option to “Copy links and include copies of the files in the course default directory”.
  5. In the Select Course Materials section, either click Select All or select the checkboxes for each course area and tool to export.
  6. Click Submit.

When you submit the Export Course page, the system begins to create the course package. When the package is complete, you will receive an email from the system.  Once the email is received, you can download the course package.
